Congratulations to the winners of the Crittall House of the Year Award 2021.

The winning family moved into a house they fell in love with in 2016 and four years later set the wheels in motion for the big renovation of their Victorian property.  The house had been modernised and extended and following the advice of their family friend and architect who was able to guide them through the project, they moved into a garden studio for seven months to keep an eye on the renovation.

The property soon became a shell of four walls which was a very emotional experience.  It became apparent the timbers needed upgrading a new staircase was required.

Initial ideas from Houzz and Pinterest gave the family ideas for the large French doors and windows and internal screen for the kitchen but many designs were very boxy with thick frames.

As their architect had worked previously with Lightfoot Windows (Kent), a Crittall Specialist Partner, he highlighted Crittall W20 frames which was exactly the look they required.  The family are all delighted with their windows, balcony door and views with the master bedroom having floor to ceiling, wall to wall windows.  The kitchen dining room is flooded with light and the black Crittall windows are stunning from both the inside and outside.  See full case study here.
